Majid Al Futtaim—the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia—has launched its annual ‘Make a Difference Together’ campaign across all shopping malls in the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt and Beirut this Ramadan. Its 12th annual ‘Make A Difference Together’ campaign, which encourages parents to teach their children the value of giving and to instil lessons of compassion, aims to stimulate communities to donate together, providing families in need with everyday essentials.
In partnership with the Red Crescent Society, Majid Al Futtaim’s shopping malls in Dubai – Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem, Al Shindagha and My City Centre Al Barsha; and in the Northern Emirates City Centre Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and My City Centre Nasseriya, Al Dhait and Matajer Al Juraina, Al Khan, Al Mergab, Al Quoz - are offering the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Special donation boxes are placed inside the malls and visitors are invited to donate gently used clothes, books, toys and non-perishable food items, which will be collected and donated through the distribution channels of the local charity organisation, warming the hearts of thousands of people.
Each of the malls have transformed with elegant and traditional décor to mark the Holy Month. The glittering cultural symbols hanging from the ceiling and bright arabesque motifs that adorn every corner of the malls reflect the spirit of peace, tranquillity and hospitality during the Holy Month. The glowing installations have become a social media highlight among residents and tourists visiting Mall of the Emirates, My City Centres and City Centres in the UAE during Ramadan every year. The malls’ encourage families and friends to come together and freeze the special moment in time with a picture with the dazzling decoration in the backdrop and share it on social media.
Majid Al Futtaim team members will also embrace the spirit of giving by taking part in a number of initiatives during the Holy Month to help construction workers celebrate the joy of
Ramadan.
Team members will host a special Iftar for workers at Majid Al Futtaim construction sites, preparing goodie bags and gift packs for them as well as partnering with Fitness First to provide classes for workers and labourers. Ahead of the distribution of donated items at the end of the campaign, employees will gather with their families to fill the Eid boxes with the donations made.
